Hi,

I have another AVG account: David Huang. Seven or eight days ago, I changed the e-mail address used with that account.

After that, I can successfully log into the AVG site with the new e-mail address, but I have not been able to log into this support forum with the new e-mail address. Every time I was asked to fill out my first and last names. So I did. But then I saw the following error message:

"Your request cannot be processed at this time. The site administrator has been alerted.
Please try to log in later."

I have no choice but creating a new AVG account (David Huangii) which I'm using to post this message that you are reading now.

But I still prefer using the old account (David Huang) to post here. Can someone please inform the administrator of this forum about my situation?

Thanks.

Hello, Santhosh Pannerselvam,

Thank you for your consideration.

I have replied to one of the two e-mails you sent to me.

Hi, Dinesh Krishnan

Sorry. I don't quite understand what you mean by "special" character.

However, I tried:

  • typing only the character "#" in the last name field
  • appending the character "#" to my last name, i.e., Huang#
  • adding the character "#" after Huang with a space in between, i.e., Huang #
All failed. The following error message was displayed:

"Error:
First name or Last name contains an invalid character (#)."

If my understanding on the meaning of the "special" character you mentioned is wrong, could you give me an example?

Thank you.

By the way, after a message is posted to this forum, is there a way to edit it?

I'm asking this because in my last message, the following phrase:

"adding the character "#" after Huang with a space in between, i.e., Huang
#"

should be:

"adding the character "#" after Huang with a space in between, i.e., Huang #"

In other words, Huang and # should be in the end of the same line, with a space in between, not on two seperate lines.

Is it possible to edit?
