i have downloaded avg 2015 free and some components need updating have tried for the past couple of days to update keeps saying unable to connect to avg server

Clinton, There are presently issues with auto updating AVG & these are being investigated. You may want to try this?.. Have a look @ this article (http://avgclick.me/UpdateAVG) [B. Updating AVG offline]. AVG Free… Use the update files from this webpage (http://free.avg.com/ww-en/download-update).
