I find myself having to pay for a renewal of a subscription I never made or downloaded. They even renewed it without asking first—and with a price increase! I can't find an email contact; I had found a chat (by chance), but they closed the conversation. I want a refund and an immediate cancellation of this subscription, and I want to be removed from their database. What else can I do?"
I have this issue also. I have no record of an email before my renewal date. I tried calling the number given for support; it rang then dropped. I tried 3 or 4 times. Eventually, I did a very long chat online repeatedly asking "how do I cancel automatic renewal" the agent refused to answer, saying "you have AVG for another year now, cancel the renewal next year". I said: No, I want to cancel it now". Finally s/he said that I could cancel my automatic renewal online by going to "subscriptions". I can't find anywhere on my account to cancel my automatic renewal.
I think it is entirely appropriate to discuss this on a public post; people should know about this shady practice.
