How do i cancel my avg TUNEUP trial period?

It goes 'paid for' on the 17th Jan

I had trouble cancelling also and thought that it had been done because I got a message like the answere they just gave you only to be charged for a years subscription . Now I am truing to figure out how to get my money back because they want a   cancellation id number I never received.
The best bet I was informed too late by pay pal is to contact paypal or  credit card you used in beginning and have them block any future payments to this company before the trial expiration.
