Saturday, I received a very disturbing call from someone who said he was from AVG. He instructed me that in order to refund me, I had to download a GoStart (or something like that) software. I actually used AVG shredder to get rid of it. After I install it, I have to enter an ID number, which was provided to me, plus enter some more information. It was at this point that I questioned why this was all necessary, and then the call was dropped. I have never heard of a practice like this for a simple $79.00 refund! Can you please just give me back my funds and we can end this whole thing?

AVG is making it virtually impossible for me to cancel my subscriptions. I was able to "unsubscribe" as of 2021, but for the life of me there is no way that I can see to avoid the $79.00 charge for the year 2019-20. Even though the subscription renews on September 7, 2019, AVG has already debited my credit card, and left me no way to cancel this year's subscriptions going forward.

Are you trying to get refund for the above charge? Apart from the above product, you have two copies of AVG PC TuneUp which were charged on 8/11/19 for 2 year subscription and 1/14/19 for 1 year subscription.
If you are looking refund for the double purchase, the appropriate product to get refund is for 2 year subscription for AVG PC TuneUp.
