Thanks for your response.
My problem arose when trying to upload a new Android APK from Android Studio.
It is no longer possible to reproduce the problem, as Android Studio no longer offers me the option to “run” the re-built app. However, I triggered off the AVG Help page “Generic Virus” before selecting to remove the threat… My best guess is that the level of security on my tablet is lowered so that I can then upload new versions of software from my PC, and that this may have been the trigger for the “Generic Virus” warning. I could try to transfer the developed software to another PC which should have the same version of AVG software on it if you would like me to take this further. I would not this time select “Remove threat” option.
I simply want to be able to re-enable the develop…upload…test cycle.

I develop Android apps on a pc, then download them to a tablet or phone for testing.
AVG has started to regard this as unsafe, and prompted me to remover a "virus threat". Since saying "yes", I have been unable to download any apps from my pc for testing. How can I "unremove" the (safe) "virus threat"?
Hello David,
