Many thanks for your advice. My AVG Free is up to date - yesterday and today upddated. I have run the AVG Repair programme twice but it failed on both occasions - error code OxC0070643 the first time and Oxe001f90b the second time after a computer restart.
Where do we go from here?
Just to let you know that after 3 updates and one "lock up" requiring Control+Alt+Delete to get going again, the last 3 whole computer scans over the last 3 days have resulted in "NO THREATS DETECTED".
I notice my problem with "Inline Hook ntoskrnl.exe" had peviously been reported in February and August of this year. I followed the suggestions made at that time, but they had no affect on my own problem which now in any case seems to be corrected.
Many thanks for your time and help.
Have been using AVG Free in various guises since Widows 95 (or before) and everything has worked perfectly with only a couple of Trojans encountered and safely put in the virus vault . After installing the Anniversary Update to Windows 10, I have been plagued with Medium Grade Threats which Avg seems "Unable to Resolve" - over 290 of them.
The description of each is " Inline hook ntoskrnl.exe followed by a variety of further data for example "memset + Ox15E36", and "ExTryAcquirePushlockExclusiv".
Can anyone throw any light on these and help AVG resolve/deal with them.
Being purely cynical, I am also having repeated offers to upgrade to a paid for Internet Security Service???
Karthikeyan,
Full scan completed at 1949hrs - 40 threats identified. Opening the "Details" tab and clicking on the "Remove all" button achieves nothing even after waiting a few minutes. The threats are of the same nature as previously reported.
Issue is not resolved. Thanks for your efforts.
Hello David,
We are sorry to know that the repair failed. Please do not worry, now run the AVG scan and check if any threat is being detected. Eventhough you got the repair failed message, the repair must have completed. Please run the scan and let us know if the issue is resolved.
Thank you.
