I recently had to refresh my laptop, and re-install programs such as my AVG. I've been a user for years, but for some reason, It stops at 86% of installation. I tried to unistall it,since the program is listed as an "installed" program in control panel, but the unistallation shows a problem with that command, yet, I cannot open it and run a scan or anything, so I don't know if I'm even protected or not at this point. Can't use it, Can't get rid of it. Help!!

I suspect you might have previous traces of AVG products in your pc. Please follow the steps below and then proceed with the installation.
I request you to click this link
http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
to download and run the AVG Remover tool.
Please select the AVG products which are shown in the remover tool window and then start removal process.
After the remover tool process is successfully finished, restart your pc.
After the restart, manually delete the AVG Remover folder in the C drive of Mycomputer.
Now, try to install your product and you should be fine.
