Let's perform repair (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-repair-AVG&supportType=home) and check the status. If the issue persists, please remove the existing AVG Internet Security from your control panel and re-install it as mentioned here (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=Download-and-install-AVG-Protection&supportType=home).
Activate it using the license number which you received during the renewal.

Is the icon of AVG Internet Security not responding or it keep on loading when you double click on it?
Please be more specific about the issue you'd with the program to get speedy resolution.
