Cannot Install AVG Internet Security

User-added image

For some bizarre reason before the New Year in December my copy of AVG decided it was no longer a registered, paid-for version, despite that my license is not due to expire until 2019.  I came across another person's thread with the same issue but there was no solution despite being marked as resolved (inactive threads apparently count as resolved now?)

In any case, it automatically turned into a trial version for a time and I let it slide until it bothered me again about how it was turning into the free version.  There was no where I could find to simply re-input my license so I decided to uninstall.

However, now when I attempt to reinstall, the program won't let me and shows the following:

Imgur: The magic of the Internet

While I do have PC Tune Up installed, I don't have any other copy Internet Security installed.  I don't understand why there would be an issue reinstalling when I've have Internet Security and TuneUp work together just fine in the past before.

Please advise.

Thank you.  This resolved my problem.  I think the most valuable piece of knowledge I'll be taking from this are knowing of the existence of those removal tools, which I will refer to in the future from now on.  Cheers!

Hello, Brent.

Please accept my apologies with regards to the inconvenience this may have caused. It is not usual that a paid version of AVG program downgrading to free/trial version automatically. Had you contacted us then, it would have helped us analyze and found the root cause of this issue.

Regarding the re installation, I could not access the link you provided that contains a screenshot. I request you to upload the screenshot directly on this thread so we can check and assist you further. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
