i too have been getting error message: 0xC0070652

I cannot do windows updates or update my AVG. I have tried unistalling it and still getting that error message stating there is already an install in place… help…

I will help you with the issue
You can solve this issue by running AVG remover tool.
please uninstall all AVG programs installed in your computer from control panel
and then Run AVG Remover tool follow below links to know how to do it.
Uninstall AVG

And after that try to reinstall your AVG program by downloading it from www.AVG.com/download

Either attempt causes error code 0xC0070652.  Used W8 and AVG uninstaller to no avail.  Used CCleaner to no avail.  Tried new download and install to no avail.  The error says another installer still working.  ???

Initially to uninstall AVG.  Then install AVG.  Also, W8 "update and restart" is hanging.  Sounds like the system "installer" messed up??
