Cannot open AVG installer

I cannot open installer from avg_avc_mac_all_ltst_151.dmg for AVG Antivirus Mac Free version.

When I open .dmg and double click installer, verifying window opens, but there's no progress, verification never completes, and installer never opens.

How can I get installer to open?

Restart fixed issue.

There is no right click option to run as administrator, only option to "Open" installer.
I checked "Get Info" on the .dmg and confirmed that I have administrator privileges on the drive.

IOW - the dmg volume mounts on my desktop (I can see the icon for it there), and when I double click on the dmg icon, the volume opens to reveal the Install AVG Antivirus icon with instructions to "double-click the (installer) icon above!), but there is where I'm having trouble - the installer never verifies in order to open.
