Hello Mark,
We regret for the inconvenience caused. Have you installed any antivirus program other than AVG? To check the issue, we suggest you to remove AVG traces using AVG Remover Tool ( http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe ). Please restart to complete the uninstalling process. After restarting your computer, you may need to manually delete any remaining AVG files and also 'search' for a folder "AVG Remover"(usually in 'C' drive) and please delete it manually. And then check if your web browser issue is fixed and share the status in this forum. Thank you.
Hi My computer (Vista OS using Firefox browser) displayed a message " A problem has been encountered and computer will automatically shut down to avoid damage." Following the shutdown I restarted the computer and received the following messages:
(1) "AVG Diagnostics has stopped working" and "AVG Watchdog Service has stopped working". I cannot access AVG Internet Security program at all.
(2) The Firefox browser will not open and displays "Couldn't load XCOM".
However I can still use IE and Chrome browsers.
Any suggestions to bring AVG and Firefox back on line appreciated.
Mark Williams
Thanks Raj
AVG successfully removed and reinstalled and Firefox is running.
Mark
