Cannot reinstall AVG Internet Security 2016

Hello Bob,
Thank you for your valuable efforts. Since you have tried basic trouble shooting steps to resolve the issue, unfortunately the issue is still persisting on your system, in this case,we have sent you an email instruction to get connected with our technical support team. Please follow those instructions to get in touch with them and you should be able to resolve your issue. Thank you.

I use a Dell XPS 8700 PC with Windows 10 Pro with the anniversary update. I installed the anniversary several days ago. I use AVG Internet Security 2016 and have been for a few months since I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7, and Office 365 from Office 2010.

I used the PC for several hours earlier today with no problems. This evening when I powered up, AVG came up with a firewall configuration error. I followed the instructions to reset the config, but it did not correct the problem.

I then uninstalled AVG Internet Security 2016 with your AVG Remover tool. The reinstall failed with a general error (0x0643) Error code 0xC0070643.

I tried three times and it fails every time. I have a AvgInstallLog.cab file, but I cannot see how to attach it to this message.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for assistance,
Bob

Thank you for the offer, however, at this time I do not need that service. I left the problem late a last night and went to bed. This morning I turned on the PC and was going to give it one more chance. I ran the AVG Remover tool once again. Then, I don't know what program wanted it. but some thing wanted to scan to correct disk errors. I believe it was Windows Defender as it took over when I un-installed AVG. I do not know if that fixed anything, but when I attempted the install, it worked ok. All is well at the moment.

After 55 years experience working with computers, large mainframes and PC, I have learned that when a problem fixes itself, it can and most likely break itself again.

Thanks for assistance.
