Cannot turn off email scanner

I'm sorry I guess I did not make it clear, but I have already done that and the Email scanner is continuing to run in the background for no apparant reason. The AVG control center says the email scanner is "Disabled", but it is clearly still working since it shows up in the windows task manager.  I cannot end the task from there even with administrator privlages. It seems to just be taking up memory for no reason whatsoever. I would really appreciate a deeper answer on this matter, thank you for your time.

Hello John. To disable the email protection component please follow the steps given below:
1. Open the AVG program.
2. Click the E-mails component.
3. In the E-mail Scanner section click the switch to change it to Disabled (red).
4. In the Anti-Spam section click the switch to change it to Disabled (red) if available.

Please feel free to contact us back for any further assistance.

I have a computer from which I have never sent or recieved an email, and I never intend to while using it. So naturally I deactivated email scanning in the AVG control panel. However I opened the task manager at some point recently and noticed that the email scanner is still running… It isn't doing much, but it is taking up .1MB of memory. I realize that is essentially a negligible amount, but I would still like to turn it off since it isn't doing anything for me. I've naturally tried to deactivate it myself, but I cannot seem to do so even while running the task manager as an Administrator. I assume it is set to keep running so that I can access it easily if I ever need to, but since I am quite certain I never will I'd really rather it were completely off and if I ever do want it I'd be happy to wait an extra minute while it starts up. Thank you so much for your time.
