Cannot uninstall AVG on Mac

Tried to install new version of AVG but being prompted to uninstall previous version.  Do not have AVG installed. Have checked Applications and Utilities. Have tried removal method in your support documents including 'Terminal'. Have also checked 'Activity Monitor' and AVG is not running.  Please assist.
