Evan,

Sorry for the inconvenience, we request you to refer this article: http://avgclick.me/removeAVGtrialpopup to fix the issue. If the issue occurs, mostly due to the older version of AVG installed on your device.

In this case, it is necessary to reinstall http://avgclick.me/howtoreinstallAVG your AVG program as suggested here. Thank you for your understanding!

I suppose I probably should've added that I already did that. At that, I'm not 100% certain how legitimate that guide is, since it's dated and the screenshots don't match up with the current version I'm running. Heck, I'd say mine's newer than that. At that, though - the screenshot even addresses it as the free version. It's simply not accepting that, though.
I had, at the time, made sure my software was up to date. If anything, I think that's where my problem was, rather than it being old.

In lieu of reinstalling it, I simply switched products. Thank you for your effort, but the solution's flatout dissatisfactory.

Had I not been a dedicated user of AVG for nearly ten years, I would have considered this a virus and had a panic attack. But, as of recent, after using yet another opportunity at an AVG Trial and downgrading to AVG Free once again, they have officially locked me out of making use of my AVG. I cannot stop the pop-ups from appearing on a daily, if not moreso, basis. I cannot view anything that is not asking my program to scan. That menu on the right is what I get whenever I try to access my protection. Despite downgrading, I continue to get this message. There is no way to remove the message and access the rest of the program. That "X" on the window? That closes the whole thing. There is no way for me to remotely access anything I want, and it's all because of this new interface.

What do I do? If the answer is to reinstall AVG, I'll just install myself a new antivirus. My quality of life with AVG has been steadily decreasing in the past… two, maybe three years, now, so I'm strongly leaning towards moving on to another program. This is becoming too aggravating for me to be willing to deal with.

Trip, If applicable… For your info, just in case that you are unaware, you can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
