I am having the same problem - AOL
I rang AOL and they say the problem is with AVG who need to update their system.
I need this resolving ASAP.
Since today whenever I try to go on my email website, without even getting to the log in screen, the page stops loading and an AVG window opens saying it has prevented a phishing threat. This is my primary email which I use for work and have used for years without any problems. How can I stop AVG keeping me out of my email?
Peter,
I apologize,
Please double click on the AVG Icon on your desktop and then click on AVG Anti Virus Free and follow the instructions provided in the above post to update your AVG Anti-Virus Free.
Thank you for the update, Pamela.
If the issue appears again, do contact us immediately.
Have a nice day!!!
Peter,
I can understand how upset you must be. The issue should have been fixed by now.
I suggest you update your AVG Internet Security Virus Definitions and check if that fixes the issue.
To update your AVG, please go to AVG Anti-Virus Free>Menu>Settings>Update and then click on Update.

Hello, Peter & Pamela.
I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. May I know if you are receiving this threat detection pop up upon visiting the AOL email webpage when you open an email?
