Can't access router administrative interface, either through hostname or IP

I tried your suggestions, and they did not solve my problem. Both issues are unchanged.
1) Hostname routerlogin.net still brings the Netgear error page.
2) trying to access the router UI concurrently with "ping -t 192.168.0.1" shows only the first 3 packets get a reply while I use the UI, and then timeout. And timeout in the browser as well.
