Can't access websites when using secure VPN

Ever since I upgraded in early January to AVG secure VPM, I am unable to connect to numerous websites.  The logs show that the connection was blocked or "I don't have permission to access this server".  If there is not a way to fix this without disabling the secure VPN, then its of no value and I would like a refund on this subscription.
