Could you let us know whether you tried changing the location/server of your AVG Secure VPN & check if the issue persists?
If you haven't, please try connecting to one of the 'Torrenting/P2P' servers available in AVG Secure VPN (preferably New York, Miami & Seattle) and check the status.
Also, enable Mimic protocol in your AVG Secure VPN by following steps:
Open AVG Secure VPN > Menu > Settings > Experimental > Select Mimic.

I am having intermittent access problems with some locations, mainly Yahoo and Yahoo mail.  When I disable the AVG, I can access it but when I turn AVG back on I have the same problems.  I have done the AVG repair but there was no change.
