Can't activate VPN

Hi Iain,
I understand the situation. Don’t worry I'll help you with your issue.
Please click on the Home Button at the top left corner to open the AVG Dashboard and check if you're able to see the AVG Secure VPN Tile.

You can download the AVG Secure VPN from the VPN tile in your AVG Dashboard.
Install Secure VPN by following these steps:

1. Click the Secure VPN tile to install the program.
2. Click Try it free to start 30-day trial. (I'm unable to find any active subscription for the AVG Secure VPN under your account)
3. Click Yes to confirm installation. Restart your PC, if asked.
4. Click the OFF slider so that it changes to ON. Secure VPN drivers are installed.
