Can't "allow" real-time protection on mac

Having the same issue now too. Tabbing does not work. Unsolved.

I also had the same problem of being unable to tab, the solution I found was this, open system preferences, then keyboard tab, then shortcuts tab , in the shortcuts window  where it says full key access: in windows & dialogs, Press TAB to move keyboard focus between:   select the 'all controls' button (mine was on text boxes & lists only) after doing this I was able to use the TAB key to navigate to the allow button avg then worked ok for me.  hope this helps

I am trying to set up AVG anti-virus for mac. 
I keep getting an alert telling me I need to "allow" real-time protection in security and privacy settings. 

I am following the instructions as per this article:

However, clicking on the "allow" button does nothing. 
Even if i click the padlock in the mac settings program to unlock changes to settings I a still unable to "allow". 

How can I fix this?

I have managed to fix this. I came across a similar issue in an apple forum when trying to install safari extensions. It is an OS X problem, not an AVG problem. 

Anyway, the solution is the use the keyboard to navigate to the allow button (press tab repeatedly until the button is highlighted) and then press spacebar! This properly selects the allow button. 

For some reason a mouse click wasn't properly activating the button.

Fixed!
