We'd have collected some diagnostic logs from your PC to analyze the root cause of this issue. It is unfortunate that you've uninstalled AVG now.

I installed this as I've been quite pleased with the AVG product on my PCs. However, after installing and running a complete scan - which took 4 hours - I found that after re-booting my computer I was no longer able to connect at Starbucks. The pop-up inviting me to connect to the Starbucks wifi never appeared, yet the wifi network indicator showed I was connected. I was not able to access any sites.
The problem resolved itself once I uninstalled AVG Antivirus and re-booted.
I tried notifying AVG, but it appears my only option is premium support - ie they want me to pay to tell them they have a problem with their product. Sounds like they're learning from Microsoft.
