I tried disabling all the AVG components, but still could not connect to my printerr. The VPN kept turning itself on when I used the HP Smart app to install my printer, and I would notice the offline icon.
So I uninstalled the VPN, thinking that would help, but it didn't.
The HP app finds the printer, but when I start the install process, the internet connection is stopped.
