Windows 10 Home. AVG free, updated to this day. PDFs files are blocked by AVG. And I don't have Ransomware module so I can't use the advices above. Disabling AVG as a whole, or disabling all components accessible in free version doesn't help. Restart doesn't help. PDFs files are just locked.
Hi Virginia,
We will certainly check with it. Could you share the screenshot http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot of that error message you received?
Do you have any sensitive/ personal information on that file such as Tax, card details or password etc.,? Are you able to delete
that file when AVG is disabled temporarily?
Right click on AVG icon under system tray next to clock, turn off your Protection temporarily by clicking on Toggle bar.
Thank you for the translation.
Open AVG Internet Security interface, click on "Privacy".
Select "Sensitive Data Shield" and at the bottom left corner click on "Settings".
By default, access to your documents is prohibited to users logged in to other Windows accounts in the computer.
To disable this option, uncheck Restrict document access to this Windows account.
NOTE: If those PDF files are protected by "sensitive data shield", then this disable should help you in deleting the files.
Keep us informed about the status.
Hi Patricia,
Please try to update your AVG program manually and restart the computer to check the status of the issue. If the issue persists, please provide the screenshot of the error message to proceed further.
I'm trying to delete PDF files and keep getting a message that says "The action can't be completed because the file is open in AVG anti-virus."

It's in Portuguese but it says "It is not possible to conclude action because the file is open in AVG Antivirus. Close the file and try again"
I am trying to delete all the selected files.

It didn't work at all.
Same message appeared.
If I uninstall AVG, even if I paid for it, delete the files, then install it again, would it work?
Glad to hear that, Patricia.
We recommend you to enable the Ransom ware protection component again.
Hi, I have done what you said but I still can't delete my pdfs. Please help?
Hello Krzysztof,
We can certainly take a look into this. May I know how did you come to know that your PDF files are blocked by AVG? If possible, please share a screenshot of the blocked PDF (which shows AVG blocked it) to proceed further.
You can post the screenshot here on your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Regards,
Alok.
