Can't enter Activation code

Hi All,
I am having a weird problem adding an AVG subscription, I have it installed and running fine on 2 desktop PCs (running Windows 7) and I am trying to add it to my laptop which is running Windows 10. I have downloaded the AVG file and installed it and it runs as the Free version but when I come to try and enter my subscription code the App replies with "connect to internet". I AM connected to the internet as proven by the fact that I downloaded the install file, also I can browse Websites.
I can log in to my Account from either of the desktop PCs but again the App on my laptop retuns the same comment "connect to the internet".

I have looked for a customer support email address but no joy!!
I have tried the online chat help but it just drops out after a couple of minutes!!!

Has anyone else seen anything like this?
Can anyone suggest anything to look for?
