Cant find avg on computer

Have paid for AVG protection and tried to activate it with my code. Don't see it anywhere on my computer.

No, I dont see it listed in the control panel but I do have the shortcut on my desktop but it does nothing.I tried to activate it several times with no results. The program would never take me to the screen to enter the code.
