Can't install AVG Free

Joan, What was the protection service that came with the computer?.

I have tried 4 times in the last 2 days and it says installation failed.
I deleted the protection service that came with my computer, so I could 
get AVG.  Now I have no protection at all.  
Do not understand, I have used AVG for years and never had any problems.

It was McAfee.  I have been told that they are not good.
