AVG TuneUp is an optimization program that allows us to enhance the computer's performance & not a protection program (antivirus).
Please let us know what happens exactly while installing programs. Do you receive any error message?
If so, share us the screenshot of it for better clarity.

I think I may have a virus or a corrupt file on my computer that will not allow me to install certain programs.  I am trying to get my computer to install the AVG tuneup I just purchased to see if it will find and correct my problem.  Does anyone know of another way to get the program to install on my computer other than by windows installer.  I am running windows 7 operating system.
