Thanks Syed. I disabled AVG then tried opening it in Chrome and Firefox, but it still doesn't work. Here's a screen capture to make sure I have it right?
Hi,
I am trying to open Ancestry through my local library subscription, which uses Proquest. It used to work before I installed AVG, but now I think it's being blocked. Proquest says on their help page that the firewall may be the problem.
I have tried adding Proquest as a trusted site in AVG, and I also turned off the VPN, web shield and firewall temporarily, but none of these worked. Do you know how I can access it please?

We regret the inconvenience this has caused you. Please ensure that the AVG program has the latest patches applied to it.
Open AVG program - click on refresh icon beside virus definitions, at bottom left corner - Restart computer after successful update & check.

Thanks for your reply. In AVG I opened General > Update in the menu and updated the virus definitions and the internet security. Unfortunately I still can't log into Ancestry though. I have attached a screen capture if that helps?
Thank you Syed. The VPN is turned off and I also tried emptying cookies, but Ancestry is still blocked.

Could you please let us know if you have any other AVG products installed on your devices apart from AVG Internet Security and AVG Secure VPN?

It seems that AVG Internet Security is not blocking Ancestry.com. If you have VPN ,please make sure to disable the VPN and check.
