Thanks again. I used the remover tool for 64-bit OS and uninstalled AVG. The softwares were back to normal. However, after I reinstalled the latest version of AVG, my problem happened again, even if I updated the virus data.

Hello Leon,
Apologies for the inconvenience caused. May I know the AVG product installed in your system?
Thank you.

Hi, I updated AVG today, rebooted my computer as required and found several other programs not working. My IE explorer can just show a window with no response and then disappears, my Chrome simply won't open. My instant message software QQ, which is Chinese, says rumtime error r6030. Please help to fix, thanks!
p.s. My 32bit Win7 system is normal after AVG update, but my 64bit Win7 isn't.

Yes, the problem still exsits after I reset IE, even reinstall it. And btw again, in windows safe mode, IE can be opened, but in windows normal mode, I have to turn AVG off to open and use IE. Once I turn AVG back on, the opened IE stops response.
