Can't pause my scan

Hello Hannah,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Due to the arrival of new threats and infections, we have updated our AVG security program with high new security patches and updates to enhance the computer security.

The older version virus definitions were not up to date and you wont be able to have the complete protection without new updates. The new updates will be available only for AVG 2017 versions.  The new version of AVG doesn't have an option to pause the scan. However, the scan will be completed sooner as it has the advanced scan features

We also suggest you to send your valuable feedback to our developers who are working on it to improve the features of AVG in the link:

So that they can work on it and implement in future updates of AVG.

My AVG updated on it's own and after the update I can no longer pause a running scan. The only option is to stop and I assumed there would be a resume button and I found out the hard way 4 hours into a scan. A full computer scan usually takes half a day on my laptop so the ability to pause is necessary so that I can give my laptop a break or else I risk it overheating. I cannot leave it open unintended either, so I normally pause and close the laptop and resume my scan when I return. This is very frustrating and I am very displeased with this update. It's impossible to navigate and so far is a downgrade from the original.

Jonathan, If you use the AVG Community on a regular basis you'll find that there are shortened versions for a lot of the AVG article links. When you click on the link you'll see that it actually expands out to the full AVG version link.
