We regret the inconvenience caused. Did you run AVG Remover tool also to remove old traces of AVG? Please note that AVG versions 16.9 and earlier can not be detected and removed by AVG Clear tool. Click this link for help to download and run AVG Remover tool.

i have 2 laptops that are a couple years old. i installed AVG antivirus free when i got them. over a year ago i uninstalled AVG antivirus free and stated using a different company's product. now i cant install the update to Windows 10, version 1903 on my wife's or my laptop. it says i need to update or uninstall AVG antivirus. the is no option to uninstall since it was done over a year ago. i used the avg clear and deleted everything in the registry. i even tried installing the newest version of avg free and nothing works. how do I 100% completely remove your software?
The AVG Remover tool did not work either. AVG dose not show up in apps and fetures but if you search the C drive for AVG it finds over 70 files including the AVG application. and the update still fails for AVG. this is rediculus that the clear tool and remover tool will not remove your program. there has to be a way to remove every single file and trace of avg.

That's unfotunate. Let us delete the AVG folders manually and check the status with the update. Go to Run window (press windows key and R key simultaneously) and type the following comments to delete the folders manually.
1. Type “Temp” and press enter, remove all the files.
2. “%temp%” and remove all the files.
3. %appdata% - Remove all the AVG folders.
4. %programdata% - Open the AVG folder and remove the old files.
5. Type C: and press enter, delete AVG remover folder.
Please go to c: drive-> program files and delete the AVG files.
