Hi,
Having installed the latest paid version of AVG, it kept going into Passive Protection Mode, stating that there was another anti virus program running and I also kept getting popup messages that stated "Updates failed because the program is corrupted" (obviously this message relates to AGV Protection).
I decided to try and start afresh and uninstalled AVG 2017 without any problems, but I cannot uninstall the 2015/16 AVG Protection files, as the program does not appear in the Control Panel "Remove Programs" tab.
I have tried the AVG Remover Tool from AVG but this just crashes the computer, as well as all the other suggestions on here.
Any help would be appreciated.
Nick.

Thank you for the information.
Please get into C:\ drive and access "Program Files" and "Program Files x86" folders to check whether "AVG" folder is present.
If you find AVG folder please delete it manually and restart your PC.
Please proceed with the installation as mentioned in this article: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Internet-Security-or-Premium-Security .
If there is any issues during installation do let us know.
I have tried this before, but because windows states that the file is open, it will not delete.
This has been tried with Windows open in Safe mode and also with malware etc dissabled on start.
Obviously AVG needs to be Dissabled so that it can be removed.
Nick.
