We apologize for the difficulties, we appreciate your efforts. We would suggest you to reboot your device in safe mode http://avgclick.me/rebootintosafemode and then use our AVG remover tool to uninstall/ reinstall your AVG programs.

Kindly download your AVG remover and run it, then go to C: -> AVG Remover -> Bin -> pctremover.exe and avgfmwremover.exe (do not restart your device if prompted), then run avgremover.exe (it will automatically reboot your device).
Then please remove the AVG folders manually as suggested below. Go to Run window (press windows key and R key simultaneously) and type the following comments to delete the folders.
1. Type “Temp” and press enter, remove all the files.
2. “%temp%” and remove all the files.
3. %appdata% - Remove all the AVG folders.
4. %programdata% - Open the AVG folder and remove the old files.
Tried to run a scan, kept shutting computer down after a few minutes. Tried to uninstall so as to re-install, get message "uninstall was unsuccessful" when I clicked on find out why it offered avg uninstall tool or erase or something like that, I downloaded that but it doesn't work either. I really would like to get avg free back but I need help, can't run the protection, can't uninstall it either.
