Can't tell if a VPN is there

The observed behave already informed me that AVG cannot detect a non-AVG VPN.

My point was that AVG should be improved so that it can detect that and thereby NOT give useless messages to the user. If that's too hard for the programmers, then perhaps they should acknowledge that the AVG VPN is not the only one out there and other people may use other things and thus add to the useless message something on the order of "If you already are using a VPN (and we don't know how to tell if you are or not) then please ignore this useless message."

Hello Glen,

I will help you with the necessary information.

AVG cannot detect non AVG VPN on your computer. If you are already using an VPN, then you can ignore the security message from AVG.

AVG nicely informed me this morning that I had 4 security holes in my Internet connection and that I could resolve them all (presumably) by using the AVG VPN. Thanks. But I already use a VPN and the 4 security holes identified are all covered by that product. You might see if you can get AVG to detect the existence of a (non-AVG) VPN by looking at the TCP/IP stack.

I agree with you, Glen.

You can submit your product feedback from the AVG interface and it will reach the concerned team.

To submit the feedback, open AVG Internet Security, click on "Menu->About->Submit Feedback".
