I'm using AVG FREE ANTIVIRUS for quite some time now with no problems, but for 2 days now I can't get an update on virus definitions. I turned on my computer and there was an error message that AVG is outdated or something. I clicked on UPDATE but the whole system seemed to be stuck. AVG wasn't responding, nothing. Tried restarting again and it said that it was in the middle of some setup. I must've interrupted that setup, because ever since then AVG seems to work (it says that I'm protected), but it can't come in contact with the server to make the necessary updates. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it from avg.com, but the installer sits like that without doing anything and after 5 minutes there is an error message "THE SETUP COULD NOT BE COMPLETED" or something like that. I tried the AVG Clear tool, it passed into Safe Mode, it seems that it got rid of every trace of the AVG, but after that still nothing. The 7Mb installer was still dead. I tried the 280 Mb offline version for 64bit OS, the installation was successful, it says again that I'm protected, but the update section is still dead. Any ideas how to solve this?
