Can't Upgrade and Uninstall AVG on Windows 8.1

We apologize that you are facing issues with updating AVG. We will help you in fixing this issue. Please specify the name of the AVG program with which you are facing this issue. You can try the below steps to reinstall AVG in your computer. It would resolve this issue.

Please remove conflicting antivirus products if any (http://avgread.me/1K1IqEh) and then remove AVG traces using remover tool( http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe ). Please restart to complete the uninstalling process. After restarting your computer, you may need to manually delete any remaining AVG files and also 'search' for a folder "AVG Remover"(usually in 'C' drive) and please delete it manually. And then install your AVG program by downloading from http://www.avg.com/us-en/download .

Hi,

I am facing two issues. First, the AVG fails to update. Second, it cannot be uninstalled. Whenever I try to do it, it says: 

Sorry, we ran into a problem during installation (Error code: 0xa0018fa6) 

How can I solve these issues?
