Hello Bill. Thank you for your patience and I apologize for the delayed follow-up.

Hi Bill,

We understand your concern.

We will help you to resolve the issue.

The Risk Monitor feature in AVG BreachGuard monitors the internet and notifies you as soon as your online accounts are involved in a data breach. This feature also warns you about any weak or reused passwords saved in your web browsers.

To add a new monitored email address:

Click the Risk Monitor tile on the AVG BreachGuard dashboard.

Click add new email account at the bottom of the screen.

Enter the email address that you want AVG BreachGuard to monitor, then click Save.

AVG immediately starts scanning for vulnerable online accounts associated with the email address. Follow the on-screen instructions to resolve any detected threats

The new email address now appears under Your monitored email addresses. If you see the message check your inbox to verify your email, you need to verify that the email address is really yours.

Downloaded and installed BreachGuard for Windows earlier today. I have two [2] email accounts  –  a primary one which I use 99% of the time and a secondary one I very seldom use. When setting up the program for the first time today, I input my primary email address when prompted and was told it was an invalid address. I then tried the secondary address and it worked. I thought I saw something about being able to add another address later during the setup process, though I can't seem to find out how to do that now. Candidly, this is a worthless product to me if I can't use it for my primary email address. And to make this even more maddening, my primary email address is the same email address I use to login to AVG… Make some sense of that, right? Anyway, how do I enable my primary address so I can get the full benefits of this program? Thanks!

Alright, Bill.
I am going to escalate this to our higher level technical team for clarification.
We will get back to you once we hear from them.
Appreciate your patience.

As I understand it, they are. The 'q' is apparently a shortened version of 'qwest.com'  –  and, as I recall, they were taken over by CenturyLink at some point in the past, though they allowed Qwest customers to keep their 'q.com' addresses.

Thanks very much for your reply  --  and your suggested course of action to remedy my challenge... Sadly, what you've suggested does not work. Entering my primary email in the manner you mentioned returns the same 'not valid' reply as before [and in the same color  --  red  --  too]. I can assure you my primary email address is legitimate and works  --  you even send me email at that address...

Now what?
