Bryan,
We are sorry, the antivirus program will gets installed only on the drive in which you have windows operating system. If we try to install it on other drives, it won't work efficiently. If you have any valuable feedback link removed, we appreciate hearing it from you. Thank you.
I agree this is a terrible answer. That is valuable feedback since we are paying customers. I too have a SSD with limited space and would like to install all non-microsoft applications on my D drive. Add me to the list of people officially asking for this to be resolved. I may have to switch to a different software, one that does allow me to choose the drive.
I realize this post is over a year old. So if you have changed your stance on this topic do let us know.
Thanks
This is a terrible answer, you should fix the product to install on any drive, placing NOTHING on C:. if that is what the user wants. Please consider changing this.
Hello Mike,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
We would recommend you to please uninstall AVG program from your Hard disk and reinstall it on SSD.

I received a SSD for Christmas and used an image to move from my hard drive to the SSD. Now I want to move AVG and all its parts off the SSD. Is complete re-install necessary? I did not see an change install drive oprion in the free version.

Shannon,
This is the desired behavior, it's not possible to install any applications on SSD external drive. Let us know if you need any assistance in installing AVG on your C: drive.
No error messages, I have been running AVG for seceral years. I just did not see an option to specify where to install the free version.
Peace,
Mike G.
Hello Mike,
Thank you for your quick reply.
Please be informed that AVG by default will be installed in your c drive and there is no custom installation option available during the installation. Thank you for understanding.
I apoligise for not being clear. I want to remove it completely from the SSD, and put it back on my hard drive. There is way too much writing to the SSD, and I want it to last as long as possible. So, I need to move everything that AVG uses / does off the SSD.
