Changing sim and carriers deactivated browsing protection

I activated my scam protection with avg antivirus several months ago on my Samsung Galaxy note 9. Well this week I unlocked my phone and switched sim card and carriers from att to Spectrum. All of the sudden my primary browser was no longer avg via Chrome, but was on the default Samsung internet browser, which I never use, with no avg protection.
So I go into my default app settings for my browser and I see that avg is no longer listed. Odd, bc it was listed and selected previously. So I chose chrome as primary, went back into my avg app and had to choose activate the scam protection again. And then of course avg was listed as an option for default browser, which I chose and quickly did a scan. No alerts.
This is concerning to me and I can't find any info online about anyone else having the same experience. I can't find any info about apps or default settings changing simply bc the SIM card and carrier are changed.  If this is normal I'd like to know please, so that I don't worry. I don't have much worth stealing but I'd like to keep it none the less. This may be common and I'm just unaware of it. I'd appreciate any input. Thank you
