Hi Dave,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern.
I suggest you to disable AVG from your wife's computer and check.
To disable AVG, select the AVG icon on your System Tray right beside your clock. Right-click on the AVG Icon and then click on ON to turn it "OFF".
You can also try to Revert the Changes made by AVG PC TuneUp by following the steps provided in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-revert-changes-done-by-PC-TuneUp
I suggest you also change the firewall network profile from "Public" to "Private" and check if that fixes the issue. To change this settings, please open the AVG Internet Security and click on Menu>Settings>Components>Firewall>Customize>Network profile.
Also, please Enable all the System Rules under Menu>Settings>Components>Firewall>Customize>Policies.
My wife has Win7x64 Ulitmate. We had an internet disruption this morning that knocked both computers offline. That was resolved by our provider, [spectrum] but I can't get chrome working. It loads and a grey screen is displayed. I can't access any of the options because everything thru chrome is saved online. I can use Internet Explorer but it does not have all the bookmarks and passwords saved. So IE works, but Chrome does not. My computer is working online again and Chrome is working. I wonder if AVG on her computer is blocking Chrome from the web.
