Command Line Scan with AVG 2017

Am I going to receive an answer to my question anytime soon? It's been two days since I was last responded to, even though my question is fairly simple.

Hi Shawn,

Thank you.

Hi Shawn,
We understand your concern and to assist you with the issue, Please confirm whether you are using AVG free or AVG paid version.
Thank you.

The error is simply "Unable to locate avgscanx.exe. Operation aborted". As I mentioned, the Avgscanx.exe program is what I have previously used in my command line to scan a file. However, in the latest version of AVG this file no longer exists. So I would like to know why AVG got rid of the program in the first place and if there is a new syntax and/or program in the AVG files that I need use for the command line to scan a file.

Still waiting for a response to my most recent question. It's been almost a week, why am I not being replied to.

Hello Shawn,

We appreciate your patience in this matter.
Please be informed that command line scan is no longer available in the AVG Free.
It's only in paid versions and can be executed by opening CMD.exe as an administrator, navigating into AVG's program folder ( C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\Antivirus) and executing "ashCmd.exe". If "ashCmd.exe. /?" is ran, then help with all parameters is displayed.
Please feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.

Two weeks with no reply to my latest question. Thank you for providing me with the most useless and incompetent support I have ever receieved. You have lost a customer for life.

Hi Guys,

AVG recently upgraded automatically and I am no longer able to scan something via the command line. Just from a quick look around it appears that the avgscanx.exe file no longer exists in the current version of AVG.

Therefore, what I'm wondering is if there is a new syntax for making an AVG command line to scan something, in the current version, or if it's just no longer possible?

Thanks

Thank you.

I'm using AVG Free, which is what I have always been using and until this most recent upgrade I was able to scan things via the command line and the avgscanx.exe fil existed to do so.
