Computer retart required - message won't go away!

Although I have sorted the issue out on my laptop, I cannot remove AVG on my older computer (Windows 8). I have used AVG remover and it has been running since 4pm yesterday and is still showing removal in progress. I'm not sure if the issue is that my older AVG Protection is also on the system as well as the new AVG Zen which I uploaded last week. My computer has slowed down so much since I installed AVG Zen but I can't remove the old version until I remove Zen but it's just stuck at the moment. I don't know what to do!

I keep getting messages to restart my laptop, I am getting the following warning messages: "a restart is needed to enable some of your security features" and "your hackers attacks protection is broken". I have restarted many times but these messages keep appearing. How do I sort this please?

Thank you for providing screenshot. Please remove AVG traces completely from your PC by following below steps:
1. Use the link https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe to run the AVG Clear tool.
2. Open the AVG Clear tool, click Yes in the User Account control dialog.
3. Click No in the Windows safe mode dialog.
4. Select the installed version of AVG and also check the box 'Uninstall AVG Zen'. Then click Uninstall, and Restart computer.

To reinstall AVG Ultimate, please use this article http://avgread.me/19OHofR .

I'm having the same problem. When I try the reinstallation steps described above I keep getting this message: "We have detected that you have installed AVG Protection 2016 or older. It's not possible to uninstall such product by this remover."

I am sorry to hear that. AVG 2016 traces can be removed only by AVG remover tool. Please follow the steps in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product to run the AVG remover tool first and then AVG Clear tool to reinstall AVG Internet security.

I have the similar problem as well. Tried repairing AVG as suggested but problem won't go away. Anyone coud help???
