My laptop current uptime is 9 days and 17 hours, have experienced no hangs since AVG uninstall. So I'm pretty sure the AVG was the cause of the issues.

Since I updated my AVG Antivirus FREE to version 17.4.3014 about 10 days ago my computer started to hang periodically.
First time it happened 2 days after update and reboot. Suddenly all programs freezed and none of them responded. Interned connection broke. All I was able to do is open Task Manager via hotkey. But its End Process function was not working — no reaction to it.
I had to press ctrl-alt-del and select Restart. After restart everything started working as usual. No errors or warning in System and Application logs.
Second global freeze happened 3 days after first and third have happened this morning, 4 days after previous.
How to fix that issue?

Please let us know whether there is improvement with the performance of your computer.
Once the antivirus program is uninstalled the windows security will automatically turned on, so you don't have to worry about the protection of your PC.

My issue happens after couple of days so we have to wait whether the error occurs again. Is it safe to use computer without AVG Protection during that time? If no what should I do to keep computer secure?

I use built-in Windows firewall, no other protection/security software, Windows Defender is not installed.
