To update AVG please follow the instructions mentioned in this link: http://bit.ly/1TgZWYq and if there is any issue in updating AVG please try these instructions in this link: http://bit.ly/1BVxDSY then perform a whole computer scan after the update. I updated AVG scan whole computer and ran system restore.  Here is error message:

System Restore did not complete successfully.  Your computer's files and settings were not changed.
Details:

An unspecified error occurred during System Restore.

What is the next step?

I have not updated AVG program.  I assumed it automatically updated.  how do i do that?  system recovery error says that an error occured during update and could not complete .  i'm going fom memeory because it will take another hour for system restore to run shut down and start up again to give me the message.

Hi Glenn, I appreciate your efforts and attention. The running components of the security software might conflict with the system restore. I request you to uninstall all security software installed in your computer and boot your computer in safe mode. Then, try to do a system restore in Safe mode.
