Configuration Error

I think AVG carried out an update on my PC today. I now get a message which asks me to enter my licence number. When I do that, the number is recognized as valid. Then I get a further message which says "An error occurred when saving the configuration". None of my AVG components show as active. What should I do, please? (My AVG cover is valid until October 2017.)
