Confirming version

Keith,
We understand your concern, we apologize for the difficulties. Upon checking your records, we see that you have AVG Internet Security - Unlimited (1 year subscription) which is valid till 10/8/2017 and another AVG Internet Security (1 computer) which got renewed recently and is valid till 3/10/2018. Not to worry, you have already applied to the refund to this latest renewal.

Now, you can activate your AVG unlimited program as suggested here: http://avgclick.me/ActivateZen. This unlimited program doesn't have license number for activation as it is activated using your email address.

Please open your AVG Zen and check if you have Internet Security as first component. If so, open that and recheck if all the components are active and green in color. If everything on your Internet Security is green in color, then you are completely protected by AVG, you have your pro version installed.

Please, feel free to let us know if you require any further assistance. Thank you.

Question: There is not a reactivation choice in the options menu.  AVG is running but perhaps not as well as I had thought. I have Windows 10 Home and plenty of disk space.  Should I install the files from the email link and update the licence, or do I need to do something else?  I note that I had an update in October 2016, so this one was unexpected.

I received three responses to my query.

The first fix I attempted was to use the repair option, but this failed to update and provide a 'reactivate option in the menu' and protection was shown as out of date.  I suspect I was using a free version, not the purchased version.

The second fix was to uninstall and then download the software from a link.  The uninstall  seemed to work but my licence number was not accepted at the link page.  I then logged in to my account and downloaded what I assumed was my current software.  This proceeded to install but I still have no 'reactivate' option and I cannot find a licence number, so I suspect this is a free version.

I had understood that I renewed last October, as I have a record of an AVG transaction on my credit card.  I will now go the refund link provided and pursue the question of this charge in February.  However, what bothers me above all is trying to determine whether I am running my purchased version or a free version: how do I check this?
