Connecting to overseas sites

Jon, I request you to try all the locations that are listed under "P2P" and "Streaming" of AVG Secure VPN.
Keep me apprised about the status.

Hi Kevin,

We will help you with this.
Please try changing the location in AVG Secure VPN to Wonderland, UK or Glasgow and check with BBC.
Keep us posted.

I assumed having a VPN meant one could for example, access BBC iPlayer even if not residing in the UK.  Appears not. It still comes up and says 'Sorry you are not in the UK' , even if I set my AVG VPN to show as a UK Location. Disappointing as accessing stuff designed for local viewing was the main reason for the VPN purchase.  Am I missing a setting?

I have now tried them all with no luck.  The BBC iPlayer does say one reason for no access is the detection of a VPN, so perhaps no way around it as other VPN advertisers claim.

Afraid that did not work. Tried Wonderland and Glasgow.  Other VPN providers specifically advertise their VPN will access BBC iPlayer, and I assume they are all the same?  No luck with ITV.com either. I yet to see any evidence the VPN is functioning.

Thank you for checking that, Jon.
Most of the streaming websites will have their own restriction policy towards a VPN.
However, we suggest you to try the locations as mentioned earlier which might work at times.
